brooke + vinny, destination wedding in riviera nayarit

This is what I love about destination weddings; everybody takes a break in their lives just to be with you, even when it is only for a day and that is freaking awesome. That is exactly what happened at this wedding.

Everybody cried, laughed and danced and the love they have for Brooke and Vinny felt around all day long.

The first time Nahuel and I met Brooke she was at her phone, walking her dog in Canada and even that we didn’t had the chance to meet Vinny at that time, we thought that together they had to be a really cool, relax couple and we wanted to photograph their wedding so much. This was the first time that we worked together as a married couple and I don’t know if it was the excitement of a destination wedding, or that we had just got married a couple months ago, but I have to admit it was thrilling.

We traveled a couple days before the wedding to meet with them in person and we were absolutely right. They are amazing people from New Zealand, living in Canada and travelers of the world (for real). Among their adventures they drove all the way from Canada to South America into a Toyota so, they’re true adventurous people.

They love Mexico and somehow decided to get married at San Pancho, a very small Mexican beach town in the Pacific Ocean surrounded by great waves and surfers from all over the world. It was an intimate, romantic wedding where family and friends from around the globe traveled to be with them. The day started with all the girls getting ready at the Airbnb where Brooke was, and all the boys dressing up at the wedding venue accompanying Vinny. The morning ran out so fast and then, just before the sun went down ceremony started.

Imagine this, a beautiful, boho bride with boots walking the aisle to a very tall groom with music from The XX in the background, it was crazy. Vinny’s sister and Brooke’s brother were there with them and their niece was the cutest flower girl and their nephew was the best ring bearer ever. Cocktails and portraits came after and a best friend as the MC that turned his speech into a rap song. The first dance was with a live local band and everybody danced around with them, followed by a wild party with lots of margaritas and great music selection. You guys rock.

So there we were at one of the most charming places of Riviera Nayarit on a warm night of February. The sea was beautiful and the weather was perfect, even with all the rain that fell out that day. Decoration was lovely; a bit of flowers, lots of candles, and handcrafted flower paintings by Brooke amongst bottles of artisanal Mezcal from Vinny’s brother in law. As the candles were lit the evening became like a movie and finally, here they are Brooke and Vinny’s wedding photos.

Thank you Brooke and Vinny, and thank you Nahuel for making this with me.

After their wedding, Brooke and Vinny drove us to what I believe is the most mind-blowing beach around there and they had an after wedding portrait session with Nahuel, it was rainy and wild and really cool. You don’t want to miss it, click here to see the photos.
